Post-secondary education bursaries
If a member employed by the City of Edmonton has a dependent child enrolled in an approved post-secondary institution, he or she may be eligible for the Edmonton Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund bursary. The bursary helps to cover tuition fees only and does not apply to the cost of books or other materials. The bursary is disbursed in two parts, one for each term, usually four months in duration. Both terms must be completed within a twelve-month period.
Applications must be received no less than 30 days prior to the beginning of each term, and the first bursary application must be accompanied by a high school transcript. Students are eligible for up to six years after having entered Grade 10, which allows for three years to complete high school, and an additional three years for upgrading, work, travel or other endeavours. Detailed eligibility criteria are available on the bursary application.
The bursary application form is available for download in Adobe Acrobat format by clicking here.
You will require Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and/or download the application; this program is available for free from the Adobe website.
The application is also available from the CUPE Local 30 office. Call (780) 426-6050 or e-mail for more information.
Please note
Applications should NOT be sent to the CUPE Local 30 office but to the Civic Employees Charitable Assistance Fund mailing address provided on the application.
